Pete,
remember that this gun came with a holster, magazine pouch and a stock. That stuff really pulls up the price. Especially if the stock matches the gun (which it wouldn't on a commercial). I wonder about the holster and pouch though. Since the gun is a commercial, there wouldn't be any markings on them to authenticate their originality.

Doug Smith of FGS recently had a navy stock that he was selling for $2500. I also saw the "fat barrel" that he bought at Rock Island. Very pricy at $14,000 or so, but the gun was a beauty. Its a real treat to see an original beauty. I was shaking as I held it. If I only had your expense account... Oh OK! Maybe TomA's expense account then.
