New listing at GunBroker
This is a nice looking 1906 Navy 1st. Altered, but beware that "matching" magazine! What are the red flags?

On just the magazine- the font on the 3 is wrong, the top is flat. I also see the ghost of other numbers under the 9. I think the whole gun looks a little too nice? And the pics could be better for the price he's asking.

I may be wrong, the pic is bad, but the C/M on the mag also looks upside-down...

Congratulations Jason, you got two out of two! There is also a yellow flag, the magazine base looks like beechwood to me. Beech was a late war expedient and first appeared at the end of 1916 Navy production and then on intermittently till the end of the war.
Needless to say, incorrect for a 1906 Navy magazine. Regards, Norm |

Pics dark and not enough of them to accurately evaluate the pistol. P.T. Barnum would be proud of his description.

"Presents as new"; as well it should for a refinished pistol ! JMHO.

If you think a gun is worth $8,499, then at least post some professional photos and perhaps get an appraisal for $50.
It's amazing what people will pay for guns in auctions, but I have also seen a lot of them go without bids. |

I'm always suspicious of an 'As Is' return policy on a really high dollar item. Even if you were later to determine that it was refinished, or been monkeyed with in some way, you are now out $8500. I get it...you don't want to take a chance of getting it back with problems, but if this were completely legit, a 3-day inspection should be confidently given.
