Well, Its gonna happen..(OT, political & personal)
TWIMC and forum Members.
Tonight, the CINC said what was going to happen. One may, as a patriotic American, agree or disagree with the policies and politics that are behind the decision. What no one who is a patriotic American may do is to demean, belittle or question the honor and integrity or our brave young men and women who are going into harms way in carrying this just war to the tryant's home town. Let us not tolerate or ever forgive any who despise or disrespect those who, for meager wage and pitiful sustanance, go to foreign lands to defend us. We largely do not deserve such valor and selflessness, yet these young people do so willingly. Please keep them in your hearts if not in your prayers. Our nation and western civilization is depending on such courage. <img border="0" alt="[soapbox]" title="" src="graemlins/soapbox.gif" /> Tom A. |

I agree completley.
It is personal for me, as I have a son who is scheduled to deploy any day. I also know several forum members who have children deployed or about to, and I am sure a few members that will visit the warmer climate, soon. I support those troops with all my heart and soul. Ed

Tom A,
Happy to see your message. I am 100% behind our troops and our President. God's speed to all of them. I spent a lot of time with a Kurdish friend last night and he informed me that the people of Iraq can't wait to be free from Saddam...that they are also 100% behind our troops and our President. Count me in Tom...
This old sergeant isn't fading either. My son-in-law is in Kuwait as we speak. May he, and your son, and all the other military members who are or will soon do the bidding of our nation for freedom around the world be blessed by God in their honorable and selfless effort and sacrifice for what is right.

Iraq is a case of "Pay me now or pay me later," and later will be much more expensive.
God bless America and George W. Bush. Luke

We should be proud of the British. No 'fair weather' friends. Tony Blair has shown quite a bit if character to stand against the tide to his own hurt.
Should we issue French-English dictionaries to our troups so that they might be able to read the labels on the weapons and armaments that they find in Iraq?

I'm ashamed because I was not the first to speak, Your words convey the Deepest Core of my feelings. Ten Thousand Nine Hundred and Fourty Three White Crosses on Normandy Beach are burning in my mind, How many were my boyhood friends and neighbors I'll never know, and how many other American Servicemen are buried in Unmarked Graves over all Continents of this Planet, That died so that all who really seek freedom Shall have a place to live. "NEVER, LET US FORGET THEIR SACRIFICE", OR EVER ALLOW OTHERS TO DO SO"! My heart is Also Heavy for Those Brave Frenchmen who were the First to Lay Down Their Lives for Freedom. And for Those that Followed to Lay Down Their Lives in assisting our forefathers to Realize The Freedom That We Hold With Such Fierceness! I have Shame in My Heart As I hear the words of their Decendants Who Are Now the Government of Their Land and I Too Feel the Shame That They Must Feel Even In Death for having been So Betrayed by Those to Whom They Passed The Torch of Freedom From Their Dieing Hands". Let Us Not Now Forget Our Friends As Their New Leaders Have! ViggoG |

My dear Friends, I agree wholeheartedly that we should all stand as one to support our troops and the sacrafice that many of them will make for us, their last sacrafice. I remember very vividly the many friends I lost in Vietnam and the many many years of life that I have had but were lost to them and their families. War is a last resort and not one to be taken lightly. Many families in America need our prayers and support for their loved ones sent to battle. I hope in my heart our troops can return soon to their loving families and an era of Peace. Jerry Burney

i had an opportunity yesterday to work with a young married / military couple. we started talking about, of course, current events. the husband had just returned from "somewhere." i expressed my appreciation to them both for their obvious dedication to our country, and for the peace we all have because of servicemen and women like themselves. the wife got tears in her eyes while i thanked them. i asked her why...she said so often they felt shunned, hated, or blamed for the war. it was obvious that they needed to hear that they are appreciated. it was an honor for me to give my thanks. unfortunately, this is not an atypical situation. i hear this frequently from military families here. i hope we can pull together and give them some serious support.

I can add nothing more to whats already been said. This old army spec-4 (1963-65) can only silently offer my prayers and my tears for these frightened but brave young people, their worried families and my president.
