Question P.c.98.

Folks,
I have just acquired a 1915 DWM luger, which although somewhat lacking in finish is in good order. All parts are matching except for the sear body assembly. It is of a different number but looks to be about as aged as the rest of the pistol. The sear bar assembly appears that it may have an Erfurt proof on it, a C/m.
The grip strap is marked P.C. 98., I was curious to know what the unit mark is and why it appears to be struck out.
I would appreciate any information that is forth coming.
Thanks, barr
