Default What's your Favorite Luger Book? :) ?

Mine is definetly Jan Still's Third Reich Lugers! I love Navies and Artilleries of WWI (Imperial Lugers) but I also really like all the different combinations of finishes Mauser, Krieghoffs, salt blue w/ strawing, rust blue with strawing and all salt blued Guns of WWII. The holsters of that era are a little newer and easier (and usually cheaper than WWI holsters) My favorite book TRL! Can't wait to see the upcoming Kenyon's Treatise on the Luger. ~~Thor~~

Kenyons"The multi national Luger" must be meantioned here cause of the pictures.

Wonderfull pics of wonderfull guns.

I am not fond of the Gerard's Eboks as my personal opinion about the mechanical book is that Gerard don't really know what he is talking about.

My vote goes to Jan Stills "Imperial Lugers". The pictures that he took from the book "The War 1914-19" just grab my attention. It too bad that that book in in German.

Hakan, the LMNP DOES have the best color pictures of any Luger Book I have looked at! They are stunning! I am told the new Book from Charles Kenyon (uses the same photographer) will have the same quality photos in it! Rumors are mixed on when this book will be printed and sold! Ted

Kenyon's "Multi-National" has pictures of some to the finest and rarest Lugers in existence. They were assembled from some of the finest collections in existence, and more than likely will never be duplicated.

Default HÃ?Â¥kan, could you be more specific?

Personally I have found the mechanical book to be quite helpful in assembly/disassembly and in understanding how the Luger works. But, since I am not qualified to disagree with someone of your experience, I wonder if you could be more specific about your objections to the book. If there are serious errors, you would be doing considerable service for those of us who use and rely upon the book.

What he have written about the triggerpull and the triggeraction is mostly wrong in my opinion.

He is continuing spreading the ruomor abouth the terrible triggerpull of Lugers and the inefficency.

I don't remeber anything else right now.

I have only bought his book abouth the mechanics, so i have no opinion abouth the others.

So from these favorites, this is what is true so far:

Kenyon's Treatise on the Luger

Kenyon's "Lugers at Random" x 2

Still's "Imperial Lugers"

Still's "Third Reich Lugers" x 2

Imperial Lugers by Still

The Luger Book by Walter

Luger Tips by Reese

E-books were liked by several people

I didn't see Datig's which I have had for years and have always found it helpful. Today i received my copy of Kenyon's Random and it is very good in showing different models.
