Po8 with three digit serial number
Hi....does anybody have info regarding a DWM PO8 with a three digit serial number. I can't find any info that supports a three digit serial number and the serial numbers are matching on the gun parts. Thanks for any help!

There are many, many Lugers with a 3-ditit serial number--it is certainly not unusual. Some have single digit s/n, some have two digits, three and four. Commercial Lugers can have up to five digits. Military P08's were generally made in blocks of 10,000 with a lower case letter suffix, that shows up below the serial number on the front of the frame, or blocks with no suffix at all. All that I have said is general. If you want to know specifics or when a particular Luger was made, you can check the block data in Still's books.
BTW, welcome to the forum.

welcome to the forum - as Neil said, many 3 digits exist, 999 for each 10,000 made
Also, look on the front of the frame and see if the 3-digit has a letter under it - this would be part of the serial number, but not all of them have it... pictures would help us help you - see the How to ID your Luger in the New Collectors area, which is probably where this belongs
