how to date

Hey, I am late to the party, but how do you date an Interarms Mauser Luger? Is it by serial number, features? I would love to date mine, a 9mm 6" with swiss straight grip NIB. ser. # 11.0086** Thanks, Mark.

That is one of the very early batch of 9mm Interarms (Mauser) Lugers. The .30 Luger pistols were made first, then batches of the 9mm handguns.

In the 29/70 pattern, it would be made in 1972.

The production date of the Mauser Parabellum (Interarms) is available based upon the Original Mauser Ledgers still available in the Mauser Archive.
Please read the following document that describe the certification process:

In this document you can see and example of certificate and one of the Mauser ledger. Together with the certificate, it is released a small brochure containing high quality copies of some of the Original Mauser Parabellum Blue Prints still available in the Archive.

Thank you gentlemen for the DOB info. Just for a reference on appreciation, I paid $450.00 US in 1977 for mine, 9mm, 6", Swiss grip, NIB. I was not the original purchaser. Thanks, Mark
