1918 DWM Shooter - Comments Welcome

This is my DWM 1918 shooter (grips are replacement, saving original). All matching numbers. Excellent original barrel. Some "chewing" on front strap and left toggle. No original mag. Shoots very, very well. Accurate, no stoppages (Wolff mainspring), with my reloads simulating WW I ammo (both round nose and truncated cone). Your comments are welcome.

I'd say it's a step or two above shooter grade. Looks like a reasonably nice Luger. Fun to shoot, aren't they? Welcome to the ward.

Nope, MY 1918, DWM, weimar era police with Sear and Magazine Safety is still in the SAFE!!!!

This has a "b" suffix. I picked it up from Simpson's about a year ago. They had it listed as a 1916. You really couldn't tell from their pictures. So when it arrives and it is obviously a 1918, I emailed them for an explaniation. I told them I wanted to keep the gun, but was curious why it was listed as a 1916. All they could say was that since fewer were made in 1918 than in 1916, I got a bargin! Since then, I've seen two other pistols with listed dates which did not match the date in their pictures. Let them know both times, but they never replied.

Great fun to shoot and turns a few heads at the range.
