It is supposed to be worn on the right, butt forward. That would leave the right hand free for either a sword or your horse's reins. Same deal with a M1909 holster for a Colt or S&W revolver.

The color of the first one shown doesn't look right. El Paso Leather at one time made repro of these without the inspectors marking, which could be easily added, so be cautious. TH

I'm waiting for one of the Russian Contract M1906 Luger flap holsters to show up...
I wonder what emblem is pressed into the flap on those...the old Imperial Eagle??? ...Or a Russian Contract Artillery Cavalry flap holster...Yeah! That's it!!! The cannon were horse drawn; it stands to reason the Russians would have mounted security for them...With Artillery Lugers!!! With the crossed rifles on the chamber!!! Lessee...What were those soldiers called??? I just saw it here the other day... |

I also noticed the holster is offered to the professional collector?
Wish I could make a living by collecting lugers!

I have never seen an original US holster but I saw many faked German Luger items of Phoenix Investment Arms. Most accessories I saw there were bad fakes- some were so terrible that I often must smile about the folly to try to sell these in times of www.

Tom, the holster is not that dark. I believe it is photographic darkening.

Rons Holster Is Legit as Mine
Its all in the lightening and background. Both pictures are of the identical holster. 'Darkness is the least criteria!
