Magazine Identification

Hi Guys!

I took this mag in on trade, can you tell me what it is?

Since the serial number is pantographed on the spine and not electric pencilled, I figure it is wartime?

It is not marked so I am not sure for what produtction it belongs to or if it post war.

Any help is always appreciated.

Mark, no FXO, no eagle 37, no eagle 122 ?

No 2001 markings?

Nothing! No EG manufacturing or fxo markings. The serial number is pantographed!

It looks wartime with the baseplate but not marked?

Most all EG mags I have seen have aluminum baseplates that are stamped with the serial number, so I am stuck on this.

I thought it might be for a ku gun but the serial number is wrong?

Blue extruded body, absolutely no marks or proofs, black plastic center pin base with three digits of the serial number pantographed on the spine equals the matching magazine for 1944 Krieghoff serial number 11141. What is illustrated in the post is the perfect, and only proper, magazine for this gun. Anything else with a 1944 HK is bogus.

But of course, I could be wrong.

I'd be more than interested to know the basis for John's comment as well. Being very familiar with many 1944 HK's, I'm interested in the reply as well.

Mark, I don't know of any 44 KH connection, but have observered mags like this with the 42BYFs given to the Portugese and Bulgarians. TH

I agree with John in Florida. I have had or seen four such 1944 HKs and this is exactly what the magazines looked like.

Gibson in his book The Krieghoff Parabellum (page 56, 57 and 58) lists the Haenel 122 or fxo accepted magazines as proper for the 1944 Krieghoff. He also indicates that the black plastic bottoms are unmarked.

I have a 1944 Krighoff, sn 11231, that I purchased locally (for a very small price). I traced it down to the vet that picked it from the Krieghoff Factory. It came with a police magazine and holster.

I have picked up two potential proper magazines for this Luger: sn 11230, 122 code and sn 10906 fxo code. However, both have an acceptance stamp that looks like a Krieghoff test proof. Both mags may be incorrect.

Maybe I'm missing something - as I've only authenticated and owned more than a few dozen HK 1944s over the past 30+ years..?
