Viggo, I am in a lucky position, I see hundreds of Lugers, some really bad, but some only bad in spots. So I get to see proofs, different type of finish and some REALLY BAD restamps. "My Luger is all matching........yea....right!!" Some of those restamps have fonts that are TWICE as big as they are suppose to be, and jumbled up, and the wrong font. Sometimes when I get in a specific variation that has specific milling/polishing patterns and depth of polish marks I will map it on an ID sheet so I get it back as close as I can. I am working on a 1921 DWM Baby Luger right now. This one is going to be QUITE different, more on it later.
