Friend's Luger... New to Lugers... Any info would be appreciated

Below are some photos of my friends Luger, he doesnt know anything about it so any input would be great. All the serial #s seem to match. Thanks

Hi Nate, Welcome to the forum! Your friend's Luger is a G date (1935) made by Mauser. Unfortunately, it has been refinished, the small parts (trigger, thumb safety, take down lever and magazine release) should be strawed, not blued over. This really hurts the value to collectors.

As Norm says, it has been refinished, but apparently a long time ago. I'd not relegate it to the shooter class, but the value has been compromised. A fairly uncommon date of mfg. Does the mag match? Do I see a holster in the background?
You didn't request value estimates, but I'm thinking that is what you are after. I'd think that $1200-$1300 is pretty close. Considerably more than most refinished Lugers.

The mag does match the serial number on it. It does have a holster with it, the holster is in so bad of shape I never thought of taking a photo of it. I would have never guessed that it has been refinished. Thank you for the info. I was just actually looking for info on it, but I do appreciate the pricing of it also, he has another one, that I took photos of also, I was thinking it was earlier then this one, from what I have been researching on them in the last few day. Unfortunately he will not part with either of them. So my search goes on to buy my own. Maybe in a few years I can talk him out of one. Again, thx for the info, and will be posting the other photos here in a sec.

The 2nd one is called "Weimar Alphabet" -- a commercial Luger but carry military style serial number, made in 1920s. Looks original from those three pictures. The value of this variation is currently very suppressed (way below book value), also depends on caliber being 7.65mm or 9mm.
