Post Finnish Contract Luger

Picked one of these up recently and have a couple
of questions.

1) Any guess as to the number imported?
2) What caliber 7.65 or 9mm made up the largest
number of those imported?
3) How much did they sell for when imported?

Thanks

Hi Milsurper

I doubt anyone knows the answers to 1 and 2. When they were being imported they sold for between $300 - $400

Warm regards,

Kyrie

I bought several of these from Century Arms in the $350 range when they were first imported. Most had the original 7.65x98mm barrels (a few had the replacement 9x125mm Finnish replacement barrels) and all of them had mismatched parts. Tom H.

The one I have has the Finnish Tikka replacement
barrel that is ~about 9x100mm. It is a mismatch
but does have a Finn "SA" marked mag.

Thanks for the information.

Hi Millsuper,

Here is an ad from the early 1980â??s. There is a copy of the CAI ad in the Old Ownersâ?? Corner with the photos of my Finn 1923. This CAI ad dates from the 1990â??s, by which time the prices had fallen to $325 each.

Warm regards,

Kyrie

In addition to the earlier imports when most of the Finn Lugers cam into the country CIA imported either 20 or 40 of the [SA] stamped Lugers( both P-08 & M23) form Finland earlier this year. These are stamped CAI Georgia VT on the bottom of the barrel rather than the earlier St Alb address. I was able to pick up a few of these from the distributor that received 20 (he stated all that came in) of them. Price was $550 & up.
