Production dates for 1900 AE's
Ok, I know that the 1900 "old model" was made from 1900-1907. But, does anyone know serial number ranges for individual dates? I have two 1900 AE's that are in the 13,000 and high 18,000 range. I will make a guess that the 13000 range was made around 1905 and the 18000 towards 1907? Am I close? <img src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" border="0" alt="[blabla]" />

Doug, all I can give you is the info from Aarron Davis's book, The Luger Handbook. He states that the model 1900 was made in the serial number range of 2,000 to 20,000 commercials. I assume that all of them were made in 1900. Good book, if you don't have it I recommend it for pocket carry to gun shows etc. as it will fit in your back pocket.

My 1900AE is in the 8000 serial range and I'D also like to know it's exact date of manufacture!
I'd appreciate help on this as I find Davis book incomplete ( it's a practical condensed info pocket book, that I take to Gunshows...) kidvett |
