Dear MR TACFOLEY,
(I have edit this response MG)
...I am glad you did as I am sure someone else will need this information also. As to why I have not responded to this sooner; my Internet service has been down. So I have not been able to get back on line for a few days. I do thank you anyway for the information as this was my dad's gun and has been in the family for 40 plus years.

Tom, I have bought many things from you and I will see what parts I will need. I also have a mismatch Lange 08 that needs a side plate(the trigger double clicks when pulled). But it seems to work fine.
Also, I have a original C-96 stock that has two(2) very small hair line cracks at the back along the bottom near the but cover. Can you maybe tell me who I should see on the forum to have it repaired or can you do this kind of work?

.....

May God bless America and those who fight for her Freedom

MG, I would bet that the "click" that you hear when your release the trigger is the disconnector going under the trigger lever in the side plate. I don't do wood work (checkering, stock repair, etc.) but I'm sure that their are some other Forum members who do. TH

Hello Tom,
Is the disconnector something that can be fix? I put the side plate from the Luger that you had sold me (a byf 42) on this 1917 Lange 08, but it did not fit. My 1917 cannon is all matching, but the frame is from a police issue gun. What do you think I should do? Other than the click the gun seems to work fine, but I do not shoot it much as I do not know if it will be damaged.

Thank you
Michael

Not that any further comments are needed regarding the specifics of the previous discussion, but with an international membership present the humor theme perhaps should be approached in a neutral manner or with clear indications that something is intended to be humorous. Humor is a cultural perspective based on shared experiences and attitudes. Generally we Americans are the ones who really fail when trying to be humorous with someone from another country, language or culture. Regardless of which side of the world from which it originates, the results of misunderstanding well intentioned and often clever humor are universal. The instant Graemlins are invaluable for such a purpose. <img border="0" alt="[byebye]" title="" src="graemlins/wave.gif" />
(Just a suggestion from a redneck on a mountain in N.Alabama who doesn't get out much and keeps a succession of ugly hounds)

Hello Mr.tacfoey,
No problem, I had just had a bad week and guess I took it personally.(though I understand that some people will ask for help just to pull someone's chain)Anyway I thank you for the info and hope to met someday and talk about your years in the service in your country. As a military brat I can see where you get your humor. May God bless you and yours.
I also agree with Roadkill that what is funny in one country may not be in another.(But life would be dull with out humor)

Sincerely
Michael

And no I love this forum, so I guess I had better stay(never know what I may find)!!!

How does one delete a topic or part of a response?

Tac, MG and Roadkill, sorry, if I find a joke about Brits and pumpkins, I'll have to tell it here, if I don't get some Brit, Tac or RK humor, then this forum just ain't worth a bean....
