Proof stamp on loading tool?

Found a loading tool in an old holster, does anybody know what this proof stamp is? I can't read anything much under the eagle, but it looks like the last digit is "6"

Looks like a droop eagle 63 stamp to me. Would go with early Mauser Lugers.

It came with a Mauser made in 1940, but that's not to say that it came with it originally.

Just a thought..droop wing eagles are earlier than the stick wing 655? IS there even a droop wing 655? I will have to look...

OK, I am no Mauser guy but a little research tells me Droop wing Eagle 63 then stick wing Eagle 63 then the next progression is stick wing eagle 655 and I don't believe there EVER was a droop wing Eagle 655. So about the only thing it CAN be is a droop wing Eagle 63?

I must apologize, it's my dyslexia kicking in again. I was thinking E/655 which it isn't when I wrote E/655. Looks more like a droop wing eagle/63 which is quite common.

That last digit looks like a "6" to me, but it could possibly be a "3". The rest is illegible, so I guess we just have to go by what logically fits.

I'm trying to sort out what you are trying to tell me here... so there is no E/566, you meant to say E/655?

As George and Jerry have said, it's a DE/63, the most common of the Third Reich tools. Literally tens of thousand of these were made and the inspection stamps were so degraded that the marks are frequently illegible. They are the proper tools for 1936 and 1937 Mauser S/42's.
