NIB Interarms

Bought this Interarms 9mm a couple of weeks ago to shoot. Am glad I did. It's a nail gun and a blast to shoot! I don't know anything about Interarms guns, but figured I couldn't go wrong with NIB. Is there anyway to verify by the serial nr. that the gun was made in 1968 as I was told? Thanks.

Hello Glen,
According to my data base, your 29/70 Mauser Parabellum has been made in 1972-1973.
Your pistol seems not stamped at all. Usually the models exported to USA had the FBM Mauser House proof.
Please check internally the Rear Toggle, Side Plate, Breech Block and the Safety Lever to see if the last two/three digits of the serial number are roughly etched. If yes, please let me know.

Sorry about the pics. The gun is still covered with preservative. No marks internally. Only external (Mauser emblem above take down, on top of barrel, sunburst right side of frame, and Alexandria, Virginia right side of frame) Full serial nr. on gun is 11 010622. Can take more detailed pics if you like. Thanks for the info and the link!

Correction. Now that I know where to look after viviting you site, I did find an internal etched nr. 622 on the rear part of the toggle. Hope this helps.

My site is useful!!
Ok Glen, so far I have seen pistols without internal numbering, with the rear toggle numbered only and with the Rear Toggle, Side Plate, Breech Block and the Safety Lever numbered.
I am still trying to figure out why Mauser used different internal numberings for pistols made in the same period. For example my chromed model described in the previous topic has the serial number very close to yours but has the Rear Toggle, Side Plate, Breech Block and the Safety Lever internally stamped.
I hope this helps.
