Post Composing (Luger Pictures) Off Line

Greetings: I'm a new member and a technological neophyte (Ike was Prez when I was in school).
I want to put some Luger pictures in my postings and I need some guidance on how to do it? No offense meant to Ed Tinker, but his fine tutorial doesn't seem to address my issue of entirely composing off-line.
.
I normally compose my postings (Including Photos) off-line, then "Copy & Paste" to the forum.
.
#1) Is it permissible for me as a newbie to include my photos in the postings or am I just limited to hyper-links?
.
http://www.XXXXXXXX.com/member/rbk/new_m87_920.jpg
.
#2) If it's OK for me to include photos in the body of my postings what format is required?
.
Conventional HTML <img src=http://www.XXXXXXXX.com/member/rbk/new_m87_920.jpg
.
or vB Code
.
#3) Finally to those technologically more adapt what is the difference between "Conventional HTML" and "vB Code"? Why would one be perferred over the other?
If you could give me an explanation in laymens terms I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Mr. Snow, no offense taken, you are an html guy? Others can probably answer those questions better, but here is a quick and easy.

If you put http://this.is.my.page.htm the software automatically makes a link for you.

If you want your picture to show up right on the screen, then you use [IMG] your http in the middle [IMG] and the picture will show up on its own (provided you have uploaded or placed your picture on somebodies server).

Hopefully that helps a little bit? I do my spell checking in Word and then just cut and paste (not always, depends on if I have "time" )

So, my word document would look like this if I did the work there and then pasted the information:

Well, I am buying another Luger, here is the picture of my wife about to hit me with a frying pan...

[IMG] ]http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/Nickle1.jpg[/IMG]

[IMG] ]http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/Nickle2.jpg[/IMG]

There would be no space between the [IMG] and the http, but if I did not put a gap you would see the pictures.

Thumbs up

Thanks Ed, Soon as I get the pictures of the Test Eagle I will post them to the forum.
Hopefully the vB code will work OK when I use it, copying and pasteing from an off-line source.
If not I'll get back to you.

Sounds good, if you use the [img] correctly you can post lots of off site pictures in a short amount of time. I just copy and paste and change the number of the picture.
