Default What should I offer for this rig P08

I missed that the other 1940 was a mismatch. 93v98 easy miss for me. This one is all matching including mag and holster. Eagle L which I believe is for police.

Who are you making the offer to? A dealer? Granny next door? A good Friend? Is it currently for sale and what are THEY asking?

This rig could easily be seen as worth say, $3,500+. But the market is in flux. If the pistol type were in my collecting interest I would offer 3K . But honestly..it's hard to tell where the estate is coming from. Have they had the guns evaluated and priced? If not, how do they expect to sell them> Wait for offers & bids?

Raphielle, OK an estate sale. What do they have it priced at at this estate sale?

Looks like a very nice 1940 Police Banner with matching holster and magazine! I'm curious to know what markings are on the tool in the holster pouch?

Right know they are asking 2500 OBO. I offered 1500 but was thinking of the 2500 and buy it.

$1500 is pretty unrealistic for this piece.

Listen to Dwight. He knows what he's talking about.

If they're willing to negotiate as indicated by the "OBO", I'd offer $2200 but be prepared to pay the full price.

Better hope some Luger guy doesn't come along and spot it.

That is a lovely Banner police rig. I have a soft spot for those.

FWIW, the rivet on the sear safety is suspect to me, it looks blue except for a tiny portion on the dome that is bright. All of the Banner Police and DWM Police I have in my collection all wear a rivet that is in the white. Maybe the pic is not telling the tale?

BTW, I'm no expert on these. After I got my first Banner Police I read everything there was to read in print and in the forums to learn as much about them as possible.

I think the rivet just has some "age" to it, plus the lighting might be throwing it off a bit.
