Question Grips - repair or replace?

First, thanks for the feedback I received earlier regarding the safety latch. The tip offered solved my problem, and the safety latch now locks into place at the detentes correctly. Since I had great success with that question, I'm coming back to post one more question.

The grips on my byf42 P08 appear to be original. The left grip has a very small piece missing (originating immediately below the safety toward the back), but is otherwise complete and undamaged (other than normal wear). The right grip has a crack starting at the top, originating approximately 1/4" from the front, and traveling downward parallel to the grip's cant about 1 1/4". In addition, the bottom front "tip" appears to have been knocked away (but only the tiniest bit). For now, I've forced some Elmer's carpenter glue into the aforementioned crack to prevent the crack from growing.

As I've said, these appear to be the original grips and they're in pretty good shape. They don't seem to have have any serial numbers on them (either on the inside or outside as far as I can find, so I might be mistaken), but the seller said that they were original. Should I send these to someone for restoration, or should I simply replace them and place the original grips aside for historical interest?
Thanks, all!
Tom

You can't go wrong setting aside the originals and buying another pair. How about a pair of repro black widow grips? 20% of byf 42's had those black plastic grips anyway (Third Reich Lugers by Jan Still), so they'll look appropriate.
