The pic of the top didn't turn out, but the markings are BYF and 42. I have other pics including the clip if anyone wants them posted.

Hopefully those worked..

Alex, dont know if you know it but your holster appears to be for a P.38 as evidence by the closure/riveted bracket. Lugers and P.38 have similar overall dimensions so one holster for a 5" P.38 will carry a 4" Luger and vice versa due to the Lugers longer action. Thor

Default P39 (t) HOLSTER

The holster is correctly marked in ink inside the flap for the CZ 38 which was designated the P39T by the K....(oops) Germans!

It was the holster design ultimately used by the Kra... [Oops]....Germans for the P38!

See Bender's book MILITARY HOLSTERS OF WW-2 Page 36

Default Give it a rest "shadow"...

...stop with the "K...opps" stuff...its not funny, amusing or cute...you are beating a dead horse...leave it alone as no one here needs you to go on and on...

Default But is it a German Luger?

Thanks for the tip on the Holster. Im still trying to figgure out if it is a German model tho, The proofs are Mauser Military 1942. But it appears that the BYF marking on top shows that it could be a blackwidow model which appearently

is not German. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

The ANSWER IS YES, your Luger was made in Germany and thus is a "German Luger"! The Black Widow Luger Term is NOT GERMAN! The term was coined by American Dealers to DESCRIBE GERMAN MILITY models that fall in the byf 41 and 42 categories that have black plastic grips (the original kind) Jan Still reports that around 20% of all GERMAN ARMY MILITARY Mauser Lugers in the byf coding made in the years 1941 and 1942 had these grips (The rest were issued with Checkered Walnut grips) and by AMERICAN Terms (at least from certain collectors) they were called BLACK WIDOWS. The LUGER IS GERMAN, the TERM Black Widow is American! HTH
