Luger Holster Manufacturer

Attached are pics of my WW II Luger holster.
The pull up strap is missing. There are markings on the back: "P.08"
printed in black and "CO" and possibly "V" pressed in to the leather (no
quotes).These can be seen in the first pic which is high resolution and can
be zoomed. I am wondering if you have ever seen the CO stamping before and
if you might know who the manufacturer was.

Although nothing jumps out at me, holster makers at this time were given three letter codes, so if you can figure out the letters (or us) we can look it up.

Yes it looks like C O and V...see the first pic. It is to the left of the P.08.

Are you are the second letter is an"O"?

Looks like cq? to me. Can't make out the 3rd character.

I played with the original picture above and magnified it more.

I get the "c" is clearly imprinted.
The second letter is an "a" and partly pressed into the leather.
The last letter was a "v", but doesn't appear to be pressed into the leather.

Hi Don,
* Can you read the WaA acceptance stamp numbers below the maker's 3 letter code?? This may be an alternate way of backing into the maker and maker's code letters.
* If I had to SWAG right now, I'd say it is a "cey" code w/ a WaA820.

Karl Budichovsky and Sohne.
Osterreiche Lederindustrie A.G.
Hinterzollamtstrasse 17
Wien, Austria

That's Vienna.

WaA820 as well as 47 and 920 inspected them.

Is there such a thing as CEV code? If that's a Y the base must be very short.

OK ,I see it now. Found this picture:

The Y is taller than the other letters with the base of the Y sweeping to the left. The base of the Y is not visible. Must be a poor stamping.

This inspection stamping you all speak about must have completely worn off. Were the inspection stamps ink or pressed into the leather?

If they were pressed in they must have completely missed this one....maybe it was quitting time...

Not sure of WaA820. WaA920 was widely used on leathergoods in the Vienna-area. WaA820 seen on spoon / fork.
