Borchardt research, first results .....
gents,
all of u collecting lugers and borchardts know, while the lugerstory is well researched, little is known about hugo borchardts life and work. searching for hugo u always find the same elaborationes, less assured content and mostly copies of each other. this is not my way of doing it, i tried to collect facts, not stories. i have done my best, to have at least a little piece of original-paper(copy) to every entry in my listing. after about one year of intensiv work, i came to an point were i stopped and asked myself should i publish an interim report ?? yes, i will, because: first of all, maybe the one or the other will find some news in there second, maybe the one or another will have some more infos to share with me (also with PM) third, yes, i'm a little bit proud about my work comments, ammendments, corrections are welcome regards from austria wolfganggo .... ps.: i know, some of u will have additional informations to the subjekt, i ask politely to share them with me .... |

That represents a lot of work and research. Well done! Thank you!
I printed it out and now will spend considerable time with a magnifying glass to study and digest all of the information it provides. Ron

Nice schematic.
But I will repeat here again: Loewe did not change to DWM. Manufacturing continued at the same site by the same people. All that Ludw. Loewe & Cie. did was a legal transfer of assets to a new Loewe-controlled legal entity called DWM. DWM remained completely under Loewe control, sharing assets, staff, board members, etc.... until the sale of DWM to the Quandt Group in 1929. Gun wise it means they just changed the logo. |
