Default 30 Mauser brass to 30 Luger

Is 30 Mauser brass readily convertible to 30 Luger? I realize the Mauser caliber is longer. Thanks, Bill

I make both of them from just about anything I can get my hands on. You can make 7.65 Parabellum from 7.62 Tokarev also, but beware of Berdan primers...

Lube the 30 Mauser/Tokarev up good and run them through the 7.65 Luger sizing die, then trim to length.

After reading this, I just had to give it a try. I have a few pieces of 30 Mauser brass with boxer primers. I lubed them good with Dillon spray lube and ran them through my 30 Luger sizer....voila!!. I now have 30 Luger brass that just needs to have the neck trimmed to length. I learn something new everyday.....my problem is remembering it!!

Default Converting cases to 30 Luger

The 223 would be alot more trouble for me- cutting rather than merely trimming plus the rim size appears to be smaller. Wouldn't feeding be better with the similar rim of the 30 Mauser? Bill

Converting Mauser to Luger cases is easy. Just resize with a Luger die, trim, and deburr the case mouth. It's about the easiest conversion you'll ever make.
