Post Shooting Session Results

Good evening,

I went to the range to try some loads from various pistols. My 30 Cal shooter gave impressive groups with 90gr XTP's backed by either 7.3gr Blue Dot ( a Big Bang! ) or 4.7gr W 231 ( not enough to cycle properly...) Best group of the day was at 15 yds: 4 shots in 3/8 in but flyer opens it up to 3/4 inch. Still good for me!
Pistol is a Mismatched 5 inch 30 Cal with an approximate 4-5 pounds trigger pull ( I'll work on that...)

Also interesting was a PP 7.65mm ( 1941 Prod. High Polish Walther ) that produced good grouping at 15 yds with factory ball ammo ( I dont reload those small bullets...) Sorry for the 2 flyers on top

So a good day at the range...even with a few jams ( usual I guess...)Next thing is to try to develop a working load with HP38 Powder...4.4gr to 4.7gr were not enough to cycle properly. That Blue Dot load is good but a bit loud for 30 Cal...

Comments appreciated, Thanks

Nice shooting. Lugers really seem to group well if you do your part. I once had a .380 PPK/S that also shot well. Nice gun but too big for my pocket. Traded it on a lightweight Colt Mustang.

Try loading 7.5 grains of WW-571 powder behind the 90 grain bullets. It meters very nicely and consistently and should work your action reliably.
