I have 16 lugers. I put each in a cotton sock. Then each in a gallon zip top bag, Finally into a rubbermade box along with all holsters and boards. I then seal the crate with good old duct tape! This is going to be in pain in the butt! Port St. Lucie, Florida Eric

Thank You All. Our home in Port St Lucie was built 25 years ago when the building code including windows was rated for 100mph. We are staying with our daughter in a new construction rated at close to 175 mph and has hurricane shutters. Its now a cat 4, the highest. Our home will be destroyed, and roof with shingles will be gone. An example is hurricane David hitting Miami.as a cat 4. I sealed up my lugers and leather and boards. I dread returning in a few days. We may not have power for a month! God Bless!

Pay attention to the NOAA/Hurricane center forecast - ONLY. And the "European model" if you can find it. The talking heads all have this labeled as TEOTWAWKI just like EVERY other thing. NOAA hasn't said a damn thing about it being a cat 4 that I know of - that all seems to be coming from the hysteria mongers.
At this time, we're boarding up, but not planning on an evac. We'll see where it actually goes before making that decision. We're in Merritt Island.

The center of Hurricane Dorian, at 31/03 UTC, is near 25.5N
71.4W. It is approximately 375 nm east of the Northwest Bahamas
and 545 nm east of West Palm Beach, Florida. The maximum
sustained winds are 121 kt, making Dorian a Category 4 hurricane.
Dorian is moving WNW at 10 kt and has a minimum central pressure
of 948 mb. Moderate to strong convection is seen from 24N-27N
between 68W-73W. Outer rainbands with embedded thunderstorms are
noted from 23N-28N between 67W-74W. Dorian will begin a slower
west-northwestward to westward motion tonight and continue into
early next week. On this track, the core of Dorian should move
over the Atlantic well north of the southeastern and central
Bahamas tonight and tomorrow, be near or over the northwestern
Bahamas on Sunday, and be near the Florida east coast late Monday.
Some additional strengthening is possible tonight and Saturday.
Although fluctuations in intensity are possible early next week,
Dorian is expected to remain a powerful hurricane during the next

Not here in Wilmington, North Carolina... But current tracks indicate it stays offshore. That means winds out of the East and North as it passes, and lots of water.

Most that have not experienced a hurricane don't understand that they blow a 120mph wall of water, not just air...

This storm is the biggest flop on record - from the Florida standpoint. Those poor souls in the Bahamas however have a different view. What doesn't help anything is the media - which I pointedly ignored. NOAA and NWS - and sites that derive from them like wunderground - ONLY.
