Default 1911 erfurt side plate question

Did erfurt send out any lugers with no markings on the outside of the side plate? This gun only has a 38 marked inside the plate, which is not the pistols s/n.

Also, what does it mean if Germany is not stamped on the mainframe under the side plate?

This is for a 1911 erfurt.

Thanks

May be a replaced sideplate IMO. Pictures would be nice.
