Default nickel luger looking to restore

Hello,

new to the Luger I would like to restore a luger that has been nickeld I know what some people think about restoring a luger but I still want this one restored who is the best luger expert to have it restored?

I had a rare Union Switch 1911 EXP 11 redone by Turnbull that was expensive but worth it. I also had a Colt 1905 restored from a guy name Dale Woody years ago and it turned out great both of these guns were nickel plated.

I would like to have a Luger expert restore this one who is still in business and can do this restoration properly?

Thanks
NC

What year and Maker Luger is it? Photos would be helpful.
It might make more sense to save the money and put it towards a nice period original Luger.

(Unless its a rare vairiant)

Just my two cents.

Why Not Invest In A nice correct regular Luger and try to sell the other? Restoration can most time diminish the original value, depending on the gun!! Eric

I have had a rarer variant restored, it had been nickled. Nothing wrong with that, it just depends on what the luger is, and whether it is worth it.

Anything you have done by Turnbull will be expensive and impossible to get your money back.
I have used Danner gunsmithing, but I think he died.
Ted Green does an excellent job, but it will take awhile, unsure if he is taking work.

Everything depends on how much you want to pay, a 'shooter' luger is $700-$1100 - a good restore could cost that easy, and a restore luger will be worth about half or less of what an original luger would cost.

Ed I can confirm that; Charles passed away about a year and half ago.
