Default Dwm 1916

Here is what got me started, a DWM 1916 that I got at a end of year clearance sale. All serial numbers appear to match, including the grips but except the magazine. No import marks and front and back of grip straps are in great shape:

And the top view. I cleaned up the original grips (shown in photos) and have shot it some (with a different pair of grips). Seemed to work like a Swiss watch. I became a bit concerned about shooting this one too much so got the byf 1942 which I put on a different thread. Wonder about opinions: Would you shoot this? Much? Would you re-straw? Purchased it for 600.00 but was probably at the right place at the right time.....

Ken,

Leave it alone. Any refinishing will de-value it. It's in very nice condition from what I can see in the photos. $600 is a damned good buy.

As far as shooting it, that's your call, but if you break a matched part. The value will go with it. Some will advise getting a mismatched toggle train to use for shooting.
