DWM Luger Magazine Repair
Hi, I recently bought an alphabet DWM Commercial luger s/n 70xxM. The luger is all correct.
The magazine has a steel follower, round spring, brass spring insert and bakelite base and one solid steel pin for retaining the base. Is it correct for the magazine base of the magazine for this gun to be wood? The base on the magazine didn't fit properly. When I tried to fit the retaining pin into the holes on both sides of the magazine, the base split. The bakelite base looks like it was designed to be used with a magazine that has two holes for retaining pins. This magazine only had one on the thinner side of the base. I would like to obtain a replacement for the correct base and retention pin. Would the pin normally be solid steel, or a roll pin intended for peening to prevent later removal? Hi,
The plastic base looks like one off a MecGar magazine. The single pin should be a solid steel one, fire blued. |

Marc,
Yes. You should have a wood base. Looks like someone replaced that with a modern base. See either LugerDoc or G.T. on this site. They should have what you need. FN |

M.R, I have both unmarked exc original DWM wood mag bottom @$50 or GT's perfect copies, new @$35. Also have cheaper, not so perfect, new wood bottoms @$25 postpaid in US. TH PS: the new bottoms are not predrilled, so this will have to be done when installing in your tube.
