Post Portuguese oiler / cleaning rod

Ok, which is real and which is the repro? I got the first one (A) with my 1935 GNR and think that it is real. the second (B) came with my 1906 M2 and it was represented as a repro.

COMMENTS?

Question

Doug,

I dug out my Portugeuse rig and compared my original cleaning rod to your pictures. Interestingly, it is not the same as either of yours, but has some of the characteristics of both!
The shaft and top of the cap is like your "repro", but the knurling on the cap and the band around the oiler is like your "original".

Mine is identical to the one pictured in Bender's book on page 437.

Afraid I have not been much help, but confused matters even more!
