Post Snaildrum (Trommel) Magazine Question

I have a 2nd pattern snaildrum and was wondering how to find out who made it and when. The only markings on it are the S/N 149049 and B over N with a horizontal line dividing them. Other than that there are only the numbers arount the edge, whhich I assume refer to the number of rounds. Would anyone be able to help me please?

Hi John! Your Trommel (B/N) was manufactured by Gebr¼der Bing, N¼rnberg. There were three manufacturers of the Trommel, however, examples of one of these has never been located. That really leaves two suppliers. Bing was the most prolific and made about 750,000.

Hello Frank,
Thanks for the quick reply. As ever I am indebted to the breadth of your knowledge. What was the third manufacturer called and how would such a drum be marked. This little island occasionally turns up treasures that have eluded the serious US collectors and I might get lucky.........
Greetings from cold and snowy England.
