How do I get me one those Varmint guns?
Beautiful piece. Three extra inches really makes a difference, doesn't it?

I don't know Dan, unless you can find a 8" bbl somewhere!

Re: How do I get me one those Varmint guns?
Dan, just use one of your Arty's (I seem to remember you have a shooter) and buy some Winchester Silver tip ammo. Bullet is soft and should do well out of the 8" barrel for blasting varmits! Hugh's barrel was made from a 30 Caliber surplus rifle. Dont know who made it! He is firing a hot hand load to make it work right! The barrel is really heavy especially at the muzzle. Thor

Re: New Varmint Gun
It is not a standard sight block/barrel band! A real "work" Thor

Re: retapered?
Rick,
The bbl is .600 at the breech end, .535 just in front of the "step", and .530 just behind the front sight band. |

Another first rate job on your part! I saw the before pictures. Do you ever get an easy one to do?

Re: How do I get me one those Varmint guns?
Yes, thanks to Luke, he always give me quality pieces that are nice to start with but a little lacking in the bluing department while metal work is minimal! I do have challenges though! The salt bluing is new so it is exciting to me. The P.38s I have done so far are phenomenal and very accurate! Thanks for the compliment! Thor
