A question for all Lugerforum members
Does anyone know the origin of this animation? We used to have it posted as an illustration on the original Luger forum when it was based in Taiwan...
I would like to know the author if possible and what software was used to create it... I would also like to learn whether or not it is copyrighted material...

Hey John S...!!
It's an animated GIF comprised of 53 frames and a transparent background color which has limted the requirement to redraw each frame in the animation (hence the speed of the animation). I don't know the original artist - but the rendition is excellent!! |

What I get on my computer is a .bmp not a gif. Must I have AOL or something to see it?

Well, looks I have a pasttime ahead of trying to get it to work! Thanks fellers. Great Gobs of Turkey Snouts!!! It doesn't work on the link that you provided, John D. Looks like I have to go to work. I have my firewall turned off and everything!

There is some animation in the a couple of the luger e-books by Henrotin, but this is not his work... I already emailed and asked him if he knew the answer to the question, and he said he didn't know.
There is also an excellent animation done by Gerard Henrotin that is on an OPTIONAL floppy disk that comes with his original book "La Connaissance du Luger" (printed in French) that is listed in the Links & Resources page of our site... But unfortunately I can't post that animation here because it is copyrighted material...

Wes, the graphic should be animated right here inside each post where it is shown.
What browser/version and operating system are you using? Also - Whatever application you are using to save the graphic is converting it to the BMP format. If you are not using a Macintosh, then right click on the graphic and select "save as" and you should be offered the original filename and gif format. If you open the file with the internet explorer it should be animated UNLESS you have the PLAY ANIMATIONS IN WEB PAGES option turned off. You will find this option under Tools/Internet Options/Advanced... The box must be checked in order for you to see the animation.
