Default Dale's Guns LLC

This is a humungous, 2-day auction. Everything that is in a big gun shop.

Gun auctioneers make good money these days

It's an interesting phenomenon. At the beginning of gunbroker.com, auctionarms.com, gunsamerica.com, etc, I suspected legacy firearm auction houses would go out of business in bulk.

No. The opposite happened.

Rich,

Here's my take: legacy firearm auction houses = long-established operations

Not unlike the Big-Box effect. The mom & pop garden centers, hardware stores, lumber yards, etc. all took a heavy hit when WalMart, Lowe's, and Home Depot came to town. But it didn't work like that in this case. These fairly centralized arenas of firearms exchange remain, and thrive--to the extent that all the buyers' premiums are sky high! I think what changed most is the way individuals can more easily buy and sell. The internet has almost eliminated the need for long, hard work in establishing connections for buying/selling/collecting.

I am glad it is this way. It would have taken me a lot longer to find what I now have, in terms of a collection. This pales in comparison to the information I've obtained just by being a member of this forum. I'm an extremely late bloomer in this interest, and at my vintage, I appreciate this opportunity. I guess nothing remains the same as much as the fact that things will change!

I searched "Luger", there are two boxes of .30 Luger ammo. I searched "Mauser", some rifle ammo showed up. I searched "FN", some ammo for FN showed up.

Lots of ammo and rifles.

Any C&R pistols??... just searched "Nambu", nothing. "1911", a few showed up, but not C&R items.

Obviously, this was not a C&R dealer.

What did I miss?

Several Lugers, but poor photos and vague descriptions.

I noticed the ammo mostly, plus all the reloading jazz. Seemed to be some obscure ammo, but mostly a big variety. Where I live, .25 auto, for example, is rare on the shelves. And .30 Luger is virtually non-existent.

There is a gun shop near Manchester NH selling various kinds of ammo, including rare .30 Luger ammo. Fiocchi is about $21-22 a box (50 rounds FMJ, new). But I am not sure they take phone order or not.

Yahoo search on "gun shop manchester nh" shows the name is "Shooter's Outpost", 1158 Hooksett Rd, Hooksett, NH. (603) 232-6125. It's a 2-floor building. They sell ammo on 1st floor, and sell guns on the 2nd floor.

If desperately need .30 Luger ammo, they have that in stock.

Click on "show archived events" in the link, you will see two sessions of "DALE'S GUNS LLC. COMPLETE LIQUIDATION NO RESERVES"

The tricky part is this -- it takes proxibid.com quite a few seconds to load after clicking on that "show archived events", be patient

Yes, that would be correct. I forget exactly when, but the auction happened not too long after my OP, probably last weekend.
