Default Houston Gun Show

Lots of very nice Lugers at very high prices. Unfortunately, couldn't find a bargin in the crowd, in fact, most of the older weapons of all kinds were on the high side. Standard Nambu model 14's from $350 to $600. Enfield P-14's around $300-$450 and a 1898 Krag at $995! Almost bit into at 1943 dual tone P-38 at $750, but talked myself out of it. Few C-96 Mausers all at a grand or better. Think I'm about to be priced out of my favorite hobby. Beginning to remind me of the run on collectible stamps by investors about 20 years back. Probably a good idea. If I would have put the money I threw into better guns over the years instead of the stock market, I'd be way ahead.

I didn't find any Lugers either, but did pick up a nice first generation Colt SAA Christy Conversion. Christy Gun Works in California did first class Colt conversions back in the 50's & 60's. This one is a 357 Mag with ramp front sight, adjustable Micro rear sight, frame mounted rebounding firing pin, rebated cylinder to enclose the cartridge rims, and extended cylinder pin that doesn't fall out when you pull it forward to remove the cylinder. Very smooth action.
