Default Hitler Guard "Night Pistol" Luger at RIA auction

Never even heard of this Luger which is being auctioned off at Rock Island Auction Company:

http://rockislandauction.com/viewitem/aid/55/lid/1589

They are estimating it will go between: $75,000 - $150,000

How many of these were made and what is the story behind them?

(too rich for my blood but curious about it)

Watched it on the internet: It's sold $160,000, or $184,000 BP included.

Some one is a happy ex-owner.

Using the buyers premium price of $184,000. and $750.00 for an average price for a shooter Luger these days, that money would get you about 245.33 Lugers.

I like the way they include a picture of Hilter..
Ya know, in case you didn't know who he was.

Now that's a lot of money for a flashlight... Do you suppose that the patent rights came with it?

Perhaps one of the modern gun light makers bought it for their museum!!!

Sadly, many people probably do not know.

Reportedly there is one other example in a museum in Germany. Don't know if there are any more.

Some buyers are not regular gun lovers, but they love this gun. A good presentation was not redundant. In another forum, no other guns were posted, except this one. Many viewers (not regular Luger lovers) say "Wow!", "Cool", etc, etc. It's eye catching.
