Chris, your pistol must be a mixed parts gun as the grip strap marking is a Reichswehr property stamp and dates from the period 1922 through 1932. The marking would indicate second battalion staff of Infantry Regiment 18, weapon number 24.

strange the barrel has no serial, a 1906-1914 commercial proof but the frame and receiver assembly have the same serial 9335 ,probably a vopo ? I will take more pictures soon.

Hi,

Your pistol is a VoPo. The nickname given to pistols that were overhauled and used by the East German DDR Government.

The crown/N proof was used as a fire proof by the Suhl proof house during DDR years. The barrel is a replacement, made during the 1950's when many of these pistols were refurbished. The wooden grips are most likely later replacements, as the VoPo's had plastic grips with a bullseye logo.
