Default Naval markings

What do the Naval markings look like and where do I look to find them?

I there a published authority on the subject of Naval markings, and if so, what is its title?

Many thanks.

Have you looked at any of the threads on Navy lugers here?
There are lots of pictures and discussion that would get you started.

The best way to get the information you seek is to post pictures of you gun. Failing that, does the marking you are asking about start with N, O, or some other letter of the alphabet?
