Post PLEASE READ!!! It's important info about the upgrade...

Repeated post... Please read (again)..!!!

First - PLEASE REMEMBER when we go live on the new Forum - your "login name" will be your screen name in this forum. So, for example - my "login name" would be "John D.". In the new Forum - it has a single login and screen name.... Also - your Sceen Name and password are CaSe SeNsItIvE (as Ron W. can attest to <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> )

Second - PLEASE COPY YOUR PRIVATE MESSAGES from this Forum. You can "copy and paste them" into a text editor from this forum. The import utility I'm re-programming does not work well with PMs . However - once the new forum is on-line - I will open this old Forum so you still retrieve those messages...

Third - PLEASE BE SURE that your registered e-mail to this Forum is correct. You can check it by clicking on "my profile" above. The reason that a correct/current e-mail is important - is as folks reply to posts/threads you have posted in - you will get an e-mail telling you who replied and a link to open that thread, should you want to continue discussions.

Finally - my thanks to each and all of you......

My Best Always!

Will this forum be loaded into the frames pages later ? (url: www.Lugerforum.com) Or will it remain a non-frames site?

Hi Wes,

It already is loaded into the main site as a link. Try a "refresh" on your browser - and if it doesn't work - then wait for your proxy's cache to expire..

Thanks!

Default Photos...?

Hi John D.,

It looks like the photos in the existing discussion threads did not come over in the new birth of the Luger Forum...

Will we have to go in and fix each message where a previous photo was embedded ?

If yes, I want a doubling in my pay as Moderator...

Regards,

Pete...

Default WOW...

Hi John D.,

Unfortunately...I have been trying to be a nice guy and I regularly thumbed all the photos I have posted for more than a year...so folks without big CRT's or LCD's screen would not have to scroll horizontally while reading postings...

When I have some down-time during the Holidays...I guess I will get busy going back into posts (in the Swiss section...maybe, only...) and getting rid of the "thumb" stuff...

Otherwise...you have done a marvelous job with the Upgrade !!!

Regards,

Pete...

Simple Johnny... New Software... New features = New requirements.... Everything is a tradeoff when you upgrade...

Okay John D. ... so where do I find the Admin functions for this board? A PM would be helpful... Anything similar to the last control panel where I can access the membership database and do searches and stuff? How about new registration approvals? Lots of questions.... when you can find the time to brief me.

Well - actually... The previous Forum used persistent Cookies as well - which are the same structure as this Forum. My guess is that the persistent Cookie from the old Forum was saved before a Browser upgrade or firewall update, which allow users to accept/reject them.

Try the ADMIN post above as to how to stay logged into this Forum.

Also - Johnny - it's the "exact" same cookie format as the 1911forum.com, so if you aren't having a problem there, you shouldn't on this Forum either..?

Best to you,

John D.

I shall await your instructions sir... Just wanted to make sure I have it committed to memory before I start my Christmas leave, 22-30 Dec, so I can check in if I get close to an internet terminal...

PLEASE be sure and tell me how to locate a specific user password and send it to them... I get those requests all the time...

Well - after 5 years - at LEAST I'M CONSISTIENT!!! It's not you - but Mr. Johnny Peppers.

I know I made the same mistake when this Forum first opened....

Frankly - one of you guys has to change your name..

Sheeshhh... Sorry about that!!

Anyway - now that we've discussed my case of Alzheimers - are the cookies working for you now?

Jeez John,
It's perfectly clear to me. John D interlaced the squigit with the flagit spring, and now you've got to munipulate the whatzit with the fender pump and the muffler bearings. Don't you know nothin'?

I think my starter cord just broke!!
