Default Needs a part

Hello, I'm new to the world of Luger and bought my first last week, a 1918 DWM. My friend who is much more knowledgeable than I, which may not be saying much, as I know zero about lugers, said I didn't too to bad. It has a forced numbered side plate, and is a reblue but all the proofs and numbers are still crisp. The grips are in exceptional condition and original which he told me to remove for safe keeping and replace with aftermarket if I intended to shoot it much. What he said is missing is the hold open latch and spring. He also directed me to this forum as a wellspring of knowledge and so glad he did. If anyone could direct me to a source to acquire a hold open it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Contact Lugerdoc on this forum, as he is our "go to guy" for parts. His name is Tom Heller, and likely has what you need.....plus he is a nice guy!!!

Welcome to the forum, Rick!

Shooting without the hold open parts will do your gun no harm. It just won't hold open after the last shot. The German army thought they could do without it in the early days, to save money. They soon awoke to the value of the hold open! So if range fever strikes, go right ahead!
