Good morning. This is a nice site with good information. I have enjoyed reading some of the posts. A friend sent me here. I have a Luger and would like some information on it. The magazine has matching numbers. Thank you in advance.

Sort of looks like the stock mount lug has been removed too. Overall a nice looking gun, and it should be a geat shooter, but specifically what questions did you have?

To be honest. I am a gun enthusiast. But this is not for me it should go to someone who wants it. I myself love to hunt. I enjoy rifles. I need a fair price to sell it at. So someone will get a deal. I am known on several other boards.

The fact that it is a 1914 Erfurt would otherwise help it's value, but...
OK, so you have what most would consider a matching 9mm Artillery Luger "shooter". Not particularly collectible because of the heavy buffing and stock lug removal. (Please post a couple of photos of the lower rear grip strap so we can confirm my suspicions.)
I'm guessing that current value would be around $1200-$1500, depending on where you post it.
Any holster, extra mags, etc?
You can list it below in the For Sale column. It's free, and you will deal with a much better educated grade of "tire kicker" here than elsewhere.

I think closer to $1000 to someone who knows what he is looking at; but then I am "Sgt. Schultz" when it comes to prices.

yes, without a stock lug, I would say $1000-$1200

I have a 1914 Erfurt, buffed and reblued and I list it myself as $1000 value for my own values.

The last pic makes the rear grip strap look as though it never had a stock lug. Machining on a lugged frame removes metal that would be there on a slick-backed variation. This looks fully rounded, the material is there. I suppose it's possible that the area was welded back in and properly contoured when it was refinished, but it's also theoretically possible that the upper has been installed on a non-Arty frame.

I believe your frame has been ground and re-numbered.
notice how short it is in reference to the receiver; i.e. the receiver overhangs the frame at the front just above the serial number.
Lanyard loop removed also.

Doesn't change the value as a shooter.

You should mention in your for sale ad that the lug has been removed. That is a big deal.

Thanks, you're right! I was too specific. I should have said that he should point out that it doesn't have a lug (for whatever reason). That's not clear from the photos he posted. Not knowing that, since every Arty made had a lug (as far as I know) I would assume that it had one. 'Course, I wouldn't buy an $1100 gun from just those pics anyway, but that's another story...

And I agree that it doesn't look ground, unless it was filled. I have a Luger with the lug ground off, and it doesn't look at all like that.

My vote is for the lug being ground and frame filled. The grindee did a lot of work cleaning this up, removing the lanyard loop, etc. They actually did a better-than-average job of destroying the value.
But it's all academic anyway. $1000.

Popeye bought it says it's a rare commercial without military marks usually found in 30 luger . This one last of the run of the 1913 first of the 1914 . With a low number possibly made for an important politician made in 9mm, rare bird indeed.
