Default Unit Marks in WWII

Unit Marks provide such a connection to provenance, I wonder if ANY weapons were unit marked in WWII by the Germans. Any links to such would be appreciated... Thxs...Bob

Officially, there were NO, Zero, Zip, Nada unit markings during the W.W.II era; unofficially, German soldaten did like Ami GIs: whatever they felt like doing, especially towards the end of the war.
