A New Undocumented Feature for Posting Photos

John D. has recently hacked a new feature that has yet to be officially added to the list of buttons for posting new messages that include photographs.

The "Image" button that is used to added a displayed photograph places what are called UBB tags in front of, and after, the URL for a photograph so that the photo will appear in a message post.

These tags look like this [IMG] URL-for-the-photo [/IMG]

If you use the pencil/paper icon on your message post you can manually edit the "IMG" in each UBB tag to be "thumb" instead of "IMG" then your photograph, regardless of physical size, will be reduced for display, and clicking on the displayed photo will show you the photo full size...

This feature is great for those who have highly detailed photos to display and they are too large for the upload feature directly to the forum... You can post them full size anywhere you have access to the Internet and show them in an appropriate size in you message posts...while still allowing access to the full size photo for those that wish to download them...

If you have any questions on this process, please ask them here in this forum and I will do my best to help you use this new feature...

I am sure that John D. will be updating the feature in a future upgrade so that a workaround isn't necessary...

Seriously - I'll try to add a button iin the posting window in a bit... Just after I fix the "Admin" stick to the top of the Forum, and.....

Oh - nevermind...
