AdSubtract (and similar software)
Since I can't access the Announcements section I will try here. If AdSubtract works like some other pop-up blockers I have seen, if you hold down the Ctrl key while you click the feature, it over-rides the blocking function and the window will appear. That is what I have to do to preview a post.

This type of software is a "firewall". There are many such softwares that are good. The best for the home computer is ZoneAlarm sold by Zone Labs. You will have to work with the configuration to determine the type of cookies used by this site and decide which banner ads that you will want to see. Avatars fall into this category and some pics, depending upon the method used to post them to a thread.
Included in these softwares is the control of programs which act as servers on your computer and release information to the internet, and you can restrict access to the internet by these programs. A program to use in conjunction with a firewall is Pest Patrol to elliminate cookies and Trojans that enter your computer from sites on which you have let down your firewall to use there services, such as Ebay. The information that you are sending by these cookies and Trojans each time you go onto the internet is frightening.
