Lot 16878, Parabellum 29, S/N P.78168, like new, missed out at Sfr 1700, sold for Sfr. 1800.
Lot 16899, Parabellum 06/24, S/N 18789, like new, missed out at Sfr 1700, sold for Sfr. 1800.
Lot 16941, SIG P 210-2, S/N P 68840, like new, bought for Sfr. 1200.
Lot 16945, SIG P 210-6 "heavy frame", S/N P 79126, like new, missed out at Sfr 2200, sold for Sfr. 2400.
Lot 16946, SIG P 210-6 "heavy frame", S/N P 79634, like new, missed out at Sfr 2400, sold for Sfr. 2600.
Lot 16955, SIG P 210-4, S/N D 4178, good condition, bought for Sfr. 950.

Michael, I hate it when I miss it by just a bit! But, I always figure that it would have gone for even more if I'd kept bidding!

I was hoping for a Swiss Luger shooter. The private series 06/29 would have been perfect, as set up with a rear sight U-notch matching a retrofitted SIG P210 front sight. Bob Simpson would price this pistol around $2750.00, and may yet get to do so. The early 06/24 might have been too pretty to shoot, and would have been mine even at a much higher price, had I been bidding in person rather than through an international phone proxy. Faster on the draw the next time.

Don't be sad: I went yesterday to the range with a SIG210-2 and a P06/29-3. There was a clear winner and it wasn't the Luger...

I was very pleased to score a mint 1969 production P210-2 for the price of a mass produced crunchenticker. That said, I believe that mechanical accuracy of a P06/29 at 50 meters is fully equal to that of a P49 and its derivatives, though doubtless the former is much harder to shoot accurately than the latter.

Next on my Eurogun agenda, the ZfK55 and the Manurhin MR-73.

Michael,
thats the way it goes at auctions. You have to come up with a price before the bidding starts and stick to it. If you go over your price, then you end up getting caught up with the emotion of the event and paying way too much.

I just wish that you would have included in the above prices the American dollar conversion. It would be interesting to see what prices are paid in Europe in a currency that I am more familiar with.

Don't worry, it's not the inherent precision of the gun that makes the difference in my case (I'm actually a very average shooter). I just figured that the 210 has a greater stability in my hand while I'm aiming and therefore the results are better (in my case). That's all.
