Gentlemen, take note, in neither his Ebay description nor his personal note< above, does he state that the pistol is functional. Review the last sentence of his Ebay posting. He guarantees it as stated. On a further note, the Ebay watchers are unpaid thought police. I was blasted off Ebay for thirty days for offering a WWII Kriegsmarine dagger which I displayed with the Hakenkreuz unseen. Last week they prominently featured a whole slew of Nazi stuff offered through their sister company Sotheby's NY. In each the swastika was prominently visible.
The Ebay nazis are just like all liberals, west coast thought fascist, socialists and neocommunists; double standards. And have a nice day. |

It doesn't matter, but I am posititve that this seller first had some kind of cup or goblet that he called Hitlers? Had a card with it that was a place setting card that had ole Adolphs name.
I happened to look after he posted the arty, and now there is no record of it, so did E-Bay pull it but not the Arty??? Too weird>

George makes an interesting point about ebay's operations, but with reference to the artillery, this is their stated policy about listing guns;
"Firearms: Firearms cannot be listed on eBay's core or storefront sites. Firearms include all "pre-ban," sporting, collectible, curio & relic (C&R), and antique firearms, regardless of their capability to fire a shot. Any item that is designed to propel a metal (or similar) projectile is covered by this ban, regardless of that item's present ability to fire." So, functional or not, it shouldn't be on there. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the restriction should be there to start with, but they need to be consistent. |

Exactly, and I was operating under the assumption that they continue to prohibit listings of firearms, functional or not. They are asleep at the switch. The funny thing is that they acknowledged having received multiple complaints about the item, but claim that they are still investigating. Good grief, what investigating do they need to do?
As for their policy, don't get me started. They are based in Marin County, CA, which tells you everything you need to know.

Ebay is what I said it is...their European sites offer muzzle loaders all the time. I have seen nonfunctioning fullautos on the American site frequently. They are just a bunch of paranoid yet litigation conscious freaking west coast liberals.

I live in Alaska and Ebay blocked all National Socialist items I tried to view. I received the usual "..your government etc.." message. I wrote and asked what Alaskan legislation required blocking.
The problem was I specified English and German in the preferred languages section of the browser. Removing German stopped the blocking. |

So this is something we have talked about and wondered about. The browser talks to the e-bay server, the server must ask what the langauge setting is and blocks France, Germany and others that don't like Nazi items. So, I would imagine that chaing your setting to American English would allow this. I could test this if I was still overseas, but I'm not .
So, if you are overseas and have been blocked, download Netscape and IE Explorer and use one for e-bay and the other for your own language???
