Thanks guys, but I am on a pension and leaving is not financially viable right now. Just read that a 7 year old girl shot her 6 year old brother in the head with a 45 pistol. Charged the owner with criminal negligence causing death. The laws about storage is a good one, but the anti gun people will just add this to their arsenal here. I believe that enough of us have refused to register and it will fail in the near future. 1 billion dollars would put a whole lot more police on the streets. Now-- florida would be real nice right now---its -20 celsius here. Have a good one fellas.

I'm reminded of many years ago before "55" When a alcohol influenced neighbor Knocked on my back door after midnight, Loudly cursing my wife for some thing that he thought that she told to his wife about him.
He was a violent man of such character as to brutally beat many lesser men in bar room brawls when they disagreed with him.
I myself was combat trained and well able to give him more than he wanted, but there was an easier and more permanent way to settle it.
I simply walked to the door with "Phoenix", pushed the door open with my foot and chambered a round as he stood there with his eyeballs fixed on the end of the barrel.
On my command "You stupid SOB get your a** off my property, NOW !!
He left without speaking, and never had any occasion to raise any more of that kind of crap in the future.
The shock of having a neighbor who would not allow him to be the block bully sobered him up and he soon became a very good neighbor.
Had I chosen to bust his butt he would have gone on as usual.
As a final statement some years later he introduced me to some of his visitors as "The Only Man Who Ever Called Him A SOB and made him think that IT was the Nicest Thing that I Could Say".
Yes a firearm can be very effective just to have provided that the others know that you will not hesitate to protect yourself and those around you !
It is true, an armed Citizen is the only effewctive Law until the police arrive, and can serve the public need when called upon to protect the rights of himself and other neighbors.

Hermit,

Sorry it's so miserable up there. Down here in Florida it was 70 degrees F. today, but our furnace was working fine so we weren't cold. I went shooting in my shirtsleeves. Great public range about 5 miles away with guys shooting pistols and dreaded assault rifles.

Pretty tough life, but someone has to do it and it might as well be me. I thank the Lord for everything.
