Hey Pete, I understand what you mean. I also feel better knowing that you get my point. As I said in my last post, I am a little ill tempered as of late but I think its passing. I understand the books could prevent a big mistake in the future, the thing is I may not be able to afford another luger, so although the reference material would be interesting and fun, it is not a "must have item" at this time. NOW, I would like to take this opportunity to say I am sorry to anyone who's post I misunderstood. I just hope you have all understood the circumstances that made me take the posts wrong.

Adam, My public library here is very helpful on getting in reference books on interlibrary loan. Folks here will be happy to help you with complete title information when your work allows you some time to read.
kind regards |

Heinz, Thank You. I will keep that in mind. Again, I want to say I am sorry for any misunderstandings. You are all a great bunch of people and have been a lot of help (especially since I took time to read over the comments after I had calmed down. I had just gotten up on the wrong side of the bed the last few days (G.T., you know what I mean about that.) I regret all my ill tempered posts and Would like to Thank all the people who sent me private messages or emails to cheer me up. Everyone has bad days, I just happened to have a few in a row. But enough about that! Again, sorry for my rude behavior, and Thanks to all who stuck it out without getting angry at me.

Well Adam, some of use wake up on the wrong side of the bed and have little excuse. So, apoligies are always nice (from me I mean!).
So, settle down, place a luger by your feet and read all the old posts, there are literally thousands of them. They make fun reading, and passes the time! Ed

Adam,
Most of the forum guys are collectors and the reference books are vital to avoid being swindled when buying their prizes. I drooled at Lugers for maybe 40 years before buying one (it was a $500 shooter). It was and still is a great gun and it shoots great with a little tweaking (it also looks good but is a reblue). I am a shooter, not really a collector, so I am happy with my choice. I am retired so $$$ are always a consideration. Therefore, I have little interest in Luger references. I do have a 40+ year collection of quality firearms, mostly handguns. Probably every one of these has been modified in some way, so originality is not a concern to me. They look good, shoot great, etc. All I'm saying is there are different strokes for different folks. Do what you want to do (or what you have to do). If you get into actual shooting enjoy, the Lugers shoot great and my motto is "if it won't shoot, out it goes".
