Don,
Glad to hear that the Liquid Wrench worked for you. At my gunsmithing bench it is always my first choice for stuck parts, and has never failed me. I have tried many newer penetrating lubricants but I have found Liquid Wrench always works the best for me. Scott |

You guys have convinced me to try the Liquid wrench! I have used Kroil before, sometimes works, sometimes doesnt.

Don, Glad to hear that the liquid wrench helped, but for future reference you may want to invest in a Chapman screw driver kit. I comes with multiple size bits that fit most hand gun applications, and the ratchet handle gives you more torque than a standard straigh screw driver. TH

I just found this - glad you got the screw loose. Kroil and the even better Sili-Kroil are available from Kano Labs in Nashville. They have a web site. I was going to suggest tapping the screw head with a non-marring hammer after allowing the penetrant to work. Another more exotic method is to touch the screw head with liguid nitrogen, which instantly shrinks the screw. You have to act fast, but it'll usually come right out. In order to do this you practically have to have access to an industrial lab or maybe a dentist - they use it to test for live teeth before doing root canals.

You could also use 'dry ice' (frozen carbon dioxide) which is much more available than liquid nitrogen.
